CNC Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a CNC Programmer/Manufacturing Engineer to develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing programs for complex aerospace components. The role bridges methods engineering and shop‑floor operations, ensuring high‑quality, efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM for multi‑axis (3‑, 4‑, 5‑axis) mills, lathes, and mill/turn machines.
• Develop process plans and methods for multi‑operation, multi‑functional machinery, including multi‑pallet/pallet‑pull systems.
• Design and select tooling, jigs, and fixtures; produce detailed drawings to support repeatable part manufacturing.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, process sheets, setup guides, and SOPs.
• Provide technical support on the production floor, troubleshoot machining issues, and assist with first‑article inspections (FAI).
• Apply Lean manufacturing principles to reduce cycle time, cost, and improve product quality.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and methods teams.

Required profile

• Experience with multi‑axis CNC programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Strong background in process planning for complex, multi‑functional CNC equipment.
• Proficiency in tooling and fixture design for aerospace manufacturing.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting skills and familiarity with first‑article inspection processes.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques.
