CNC Programmer – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join its Military Aircraft Group in Buffalo, NY. You will work on both new product development and continuous improvement of existing aerospace components, applying advanced CNC programming and machining expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize machining processes for new and legacy aerospace parts.
• Create detailed CNC programs, operation sheets, and manufacturing instructions that meet strict engineering specifications.
• Define tooling, gauging, work‑holding, and machine requirements for high‑precision fabrication.
• Troubleshoot shop‑floor issues, including tooling, gauging, and inspection challenges.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve producibility and resolve manufacturing problems.
• Estimate setup/run times and tooling hours for cost proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years CNC programming experience, or equivalent education/experience combination.
• Hands‑on experience with machine setup and operation.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for manufacturability.

Required skills

• CNC programming using CAD/CAM software.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX.
• Machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.
• Machine‑setup and operation expertise.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
