CMMC Consultant – Remote (US)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CMMC Consultant to lead readiness, advisory, and implementation engagements for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) clients. This fully remote, full‑time position supports customers through the entire compliance lifecycle, from initial assessment to sustained security control operation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute CMMC and NIST 800‑171 readiness assessments, gap analyses, and remediation roadmaps.
• Advise customers on compliance scoping, including enclave‑based versus full‑scope approaches and shared‑responsibility models.
• Coordinate implementation workstreams across identity management, endpoint hardening, boundary protection, and logging/monitoring.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, client stakeholders, and external C3PAO partners to ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Translate technical requirements into clear, actionable guidance for business and executive audiences.
• Manage engagement timelines, milestones, and stakeholder communications across multiple concurrent projects.
• Support presales activities, including customer discovery and proposal development.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience conducting CMMC and NIST 800‑171 gap assessments and readiness evaluations.
• Proven ability to advise on compliance strategy, enclave design, and shared‑responsibility considerations.
• Strong client‑facing communication skills, capable of bridging technical detail and executive context.
• Willingness to obtain a C3PAO Certification Partner (CCP) within two months of hire; additional certifications such as CMMC RP/A, CISSP, or CISA are highly desirable.
