Club Server (Casual)

About the role

Discovery Land Company’s Makena Golf & Beach Club on Maui is seeking a Casual Club Server to join its Food and Beverage Service team. The server will deliver exceptional dining experiences to members and guests, ensuring attentive service and thorough knowledge of the menu and beverage offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly, anticipate needs, and respond to requests with urgency.
• Present detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients, specials, and beverage pairings, including wine, cocktails, beer, and non‑alcoholic drinks.
• Accurately enter orders and transactions in the POS system, issue checks, and close sales according to policy.
• Verify food orders for completeness and accuracy, paying special attention to allergies.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food‑safety standards in the service area.
• Perform opening and closing duties, stock supplies, and conduct inventory as required.
• Report maintenance or safety issues and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations.
• Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the Restaurant Manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of serving experience in a fast‑paced, high‑end restaurant, club or resort.
• Knowledge of HACCP and local food‑safety standards; ability to obtain a State Food Safety Certificate.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and service.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Understanding of HACCP and food‑safety protocols.
• Knowledge of wine, cocktail, and beverage pairing.
