Cloud Red Team Security Engineer

About the role

Join Google’s Cloud Red Team as a Security Engineer, where you will simulate real‑world adversaries to uncover and remediate vulnerabilities across Google Cloud’s products and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the roadmap for a Cloud Red Team program, planning and executing sophisticated attacks on Cloud services and infrastructure.
• Build custom tools and automation to support attacker objectives and identify attack vectors.
• Participate in threat‑modeling exercises to discover potential weaknesses in cloud architectures.
• Design realistic attack scenarios based on current threat intelligence.
• Produce detailed reports that communicate findings and remediation strategies to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a technical security role such as security engineering, security research, DevSecOps, or incident response.
• Strong background in vulnerability assessment, exploitation, and ethical hacking.
• Preferred: 3 years of offensive security experience in a cloud environment, including red‑team operations and penetration testing.
• Ability to develop and modify custom exploits and bypass security controls.

• Base salary range $174,000 – $252,000 per year
