Clinical Training Specialist – Clinical Science Liaison (CSL)

About the role

Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, is seeking a Clinical Training Specialist (Clinical Science Liaison – CSL) to support Varian Interventional Solutions (VIS) in the Albany/Rochester, NY area. The role combines hands‑on clinical support, product education, and technical assistance for VIS products, including microwave and cryoablation generators.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑person case coverage, ensuring all VIS products and ancillary components are ready for each procedure.
• Train physicians, nurses, and hospital staff on proper product use and maintain up‑to‑date procedural documentation.
• Assist during procedures in a hands‑off clinical support capacity while managing disposable inventory.
• Support product installations, address customer training needs, and deliver first‑line technical support.
• Collaborate with the VIS Medical Affairs Team and contribute to medical education and information activities.
• Document interactions with physician customers and report complaints and product performance data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge of interventional radiology/CT, operating room, and sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast‑paced procedural environments.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% regionally.

Required skills

• Experience with microwave generators.
• Experience with cryoablation generators.
