Clinical Research Coordinator – Oncology Clinical Trials

About the role

The Clinical Research Coordinator will support phase I, II, and III oncology clinical trials at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position ensures trial coordination, patient safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the study lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate assigned clinical trials from start to finish, maintaining protocol integrity.
• Recruit and screen study participants, ensuring eligibility criteria are met.
• Obtain and document informed consent in accordance with protocol, institutional policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct study‑related procedures and assessments while adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
• Manage patient care across outpatient, inpatient, and home settings, including triage, symptom management, and proactive communication.
• Collect and process research specimens per protocol requirements.
• Provide patient education on trial participation, treatments, side effects, and required testing.
• Deliver in‑service training for staff on assigned trials.
• Maintain the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) with accurate patient information and key dates.
• Collaborate with Data Managers to ensure complete and accurate documentation and resolve queries promptly.
• Document and report serious adverse events according to protocol and institutional policy.
• Liaise with hospital staff, physicians, IRB, review committees, finance teams, and auditors.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating phase I‑III oncology clinical trials.
• Familiarity with informed consent processes and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to interact with study participants, investigators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of patient safety and adverse event reporting requirements.

Required skills

• Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) proficiency.
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
