Clinical Research Coordinator

About the role

The Clinical Research Coordinator will support the Clinical Research Unit (CRU) at Georgetown University by assisting research nurses, performing DXA scans, and providing clinical and laboratory support for both on‑site and off‑site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Assist nurses with clinical research and standard‑of‑care tasks.
• Take vital signs, perform ECGs, and conduct phlebotomy.
• Transport subjects and deliver medications between the Research and Main Pharmacy.
• Coordinate DXA patient care: perform scans, analyze results, and generate reports.
• Maintain DXA unit quality control, SOPs, inventory, and ordering of supplies.
• Process, store, and ship laboratory specimens; maintain IATA certification.
• Perform administrative duties such as chart set‑up, copying, and receptionist tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Works under direct supervision of a nurse and reports to the CRU Nurse Manager.
• Functions autonomously as the DXA expert on the unit.
• Completes DXA training and certification before independent operation.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and adherence to regulatory standards.
