Clinical Pharmacist – 100% Remote

About the role

We are a fast‑growing healthcare organization seeking experienced Clinical Pharmacists to work remotely. In this role you will apply your clinical expertise to evaluate medication authorization requests, ensuring evidence‑based, patient‑focused coverage decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate prior authorization requests for specialty and non‑specialty medications.
• Apply clinical guidelines and medical necessity criteria to determine coverage.
• Assess appeals and reconsideration requests.
• Conduct peer‑to‑peer discussions with prescribing physicians when needed.
• Support quality‑assurance initiatives and clinical audits.
• Provide pharmacy‑related guidance to internal teams.
• Help ensure safe, appropriate, and cost‑effective medication use.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.

Required profile

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with an active, unrestricted pharmacist license.
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacist experience.
• Experience in prior authorization, utilization management, or clinical review.
• Background working within a health plan, managed‑care, PBM, or insurance environment.
• Strong understanding of clinical criteria and medication coverage decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for interactions with physicians and healthcare providers.
