Clinical Oncology Pharmacist

About the role

Join Ascension Saint Joseph’s Pharmacy Services team as a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist. You will ensure safe, accurate medication management for oncology patients, supporting both inpatient and outpatient infusion services.

Key responsibilities

• Review, compound, and dispense oncology and infusion medication orders while serving as a subject‑matter expert.
• Identify and resolve drug‑related problems, recommend formulary alternatives, and collaborate with physicians and clinical staff.
• Supervise technical personnel in medication preparation, maintenance, and dispensing to meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Provide drug information, patient counseling, and education to staff and patients.
• Support academic initiatives as a preceptor and provide operational coverage across pharmacy areas as needed.

Required profile

• Active Illinois pharmacist license obtained prior to hire.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
• PGY2 oncology or equivalent infusion experience is preferred.
