About the role

The Clinic Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Palestine Regional Medical Center. This position ensures smooth patient flow, accurate registration, and excellent customer service in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, verify demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
• Answer incoming calls, direct calls to appropriate departments, and take messages.
• Collect patient payments, copays, and provide receipts.
• Assist patients with required paperwork and obtain necessary signatures.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre‑authorizations when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA.
• Manage patient flow in the waiting area and communicate status to clinical staff.
• Keep the reception area clean and organized.
• Perform general clerical duties such as faxing, scanning, and data entry.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to patient confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
