Clerical Support Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, tech‑savvy Clerical Support Specialist to join our mobile copy centre team that supports wildfire response operations across western U.S. forest‑service bases. The role is seasonal, involves travel to remote fire‑base camps, and plays a critical part in keeping incident teams informed during fire season.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and distribute copies of daily Incident Action Plans and other critical documents for Forest Service personnel.
• Scan, print, and handle large‑format maps and technical drawings.
• Perform book‑binding, laminating, and other clerical production tasks.
• Troubleshoot and maintain copy‑machine and scanner equipment.
• Track usage of copies, maps, and services; manage inventory and request restocking.
• Maintain cleanliness of the mobile unit, including daily cleaning, dusting and generator refueling.
• Assist with faxing, creating booklets, signs and other administrative support.
• Provide courteous, problem‑solving customer service to incident personnel.

Required profile

• Strong clerical and organisational abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Adaptability to stay for the duration of an incident.
• No smoking or pets allowed at the camp.
