Claim Representative II (Remote)

About the role

Ryder is seeking a Claim Representative II to join its liability claims team on a remote basis. The role focuses on handling auto liability, property damage, and low‑to‑mid range bodily injury claims while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate, adjust, and manage property damage and bodily injury claims.
• Direct independent adjusters, experts, and vendors throughout the claim process.
• Collaborate with field management, legal counsel, safety managers, insurers, and third‑party claimants.
• Oversee litigation to ensure compliance with applicable jurisdictional rules.
• Assist the Claim Manager in exposure identification and solution recommendation.
• Control indemnity and expense costs, set appropriate reserves, and monitor reporting thresholds.
• Maintain communication with primary and excess carriers and alert management to regulatory changes.
• Supervise outside vendors and experts as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in casualty or auto liability claims.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Self‑motivated, customer‑focused, and able to work independently.
• Commercial auto claims experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 1‑10% as required.

Required skills

• Strong claim technical skills.
• Understanding of U.S. liability claim laws and regulations (beginner level).
• Basic knowledge of insurance coverage concepts.
• Effective negotiation and communication abilities.
