Civil Superintendent – Data Center Projects

About the role
Jacobs is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead civil construction activities for a data center project in Saint Francisville, Louisiana. The role oversees earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage and site development, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and environmental compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all civil construction field activities, including earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage, and site development.
- Coordinate daily operations with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and field personnel.
- Ensure strict adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Implement and manage Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), conduct inspections, document findings and take corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations, including erosion control, sediment management and permitting.
- Conduct routine site inspections to verify safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Lead jobsite safety meetings and enforce OSHA requirements.
- Review drawings, specifications and contracts to ensure accurate execution.
- Coordinate inspections with regulatory agencies and complete required documentation.
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Mentor and manage field crews, providing leadership and performance oversight.
- Collaborate with owners, engineers and stakeholders in mission‑critical environments.
- Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure alignment with project and environmental requirements.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 + years of experience in civil construction.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- Hands‑on experience managing SWPPP programs and environmental compliance.
- Strong understanding of site development, grading, utilities, stormwater systems and erosion control.
- Experience on data center, mission‑critical or large industrial projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction best practices.
