Civil Party Chief

About the role

The Civil Party Chief will lead a one‑person survey crew delivering boundary, topographic, ALTA, right‑of‑way and construction surveys for public and private clients across Florida. The role requires full‑time onsite work, independent decision‑making and a strong commitment to data accuracy and equipment integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all phases of boundary, topographic, ALTA, right‑of‑way and construction surveys as a solo crew.
• Support projects primarily in Orlando and Southern Florida, with occasional travel outside the state.
• Set up, operate and routinely validate survey equipment such as data collectors, digital levels and GPS systems.
• Conduct mathematical calculations, stakeout and location surveys, and maintain precise field notes and sketches.
• Maintain survey equipment, perform calibration checks, and keep the survey truck stocked with necessary supplies.
• Coordinate any assigned subordinate personnel.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of total surveying experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a survey party chief.
• Experience on renewable energy and land development projects.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and near congested traffic.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Trimble Access and Trimble Business Center.
• Experience using Trimble robotic total stations and Trimble GPS equipment.
• Knowledge of data upload/download routines and Trimble survey styles.
• Familiarity with site calibration routines, boundary surveys and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
