Civil Inspection Engineer – Pecos, TX

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Civil Inspection Engineer to join its team in Pecos, Texas. The role focuses on ensuring that civil and concrete works on oil and gas construction sites meet contractual, code, and quality requirements. You will work on‑site, collaborating with contractors and internal teams to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Attend company witness and hold points on contractors' Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
• Conduct surveillance assessments to verify contractor compliance with civil activity requirements.
• Confirm that construction materials meet contract specifications.
• Inspect excavation, backfilling, compaction, surveys, and other earthwork activities for adherence to approved ITPs, codes, standards, and contracts.
• Review concrete and grout preparation, mixing, pre‑pour inspections, pouring, and testing for compliance with relevant plans and standards.
• Sign off civil/concrete inspection test records, contractors' ITPs, and adherence to quality plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in capital construction projects within the oil/gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian and other civil codes and standards.
• Proven competency in earthwork and concrete construction methods.
• Understanding of project execution, construction, and completion practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a project environment and as a team player.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
