Civil Engineer – Various Experience Levels

About the role

The Road Commission for Oakland County is seeking civil engineers at all experience levels to support safe and efficient travel across the county. Positions are available in road design, construction, permitting, traffic safety, signal systems, and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Design new roads, expand existing corridors, and oversee reconstruction projects.
• Manage construction of roadways, including site supervision and quality control.
• Coordinate permitting processes with developers throughout the county.
• Develop traffic safety solutions such as signage and pavement markings.
• Plan and optimize traffic signal systems and overall traffic flow.
• Perform road and highway maintenance activities, including resurfacing, overlays, and slab replacement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Valid Michigan driver's license (or ability to obtain one).
• FE or PE license preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
