Civil Engineer - Entry Level

About the role

Langan is looking for an entry‑level Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Tyler, TX. The role supports planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land‑development, and infrastructure projects. It offers hands‑on experience with mixed‑use, retail, residential, higher‑education, and federal development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land‑development projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents such as reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software.
• Analyze maps, drawings, soil, terrain, hydrological, and geological data to inform project design.
• Recommend innovative approaches to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
• Collaborate with team members on assigned project work.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0‑2 years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• EIT certification or registration for the FE exam preferred.
• Relevant internship or professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
