City Dispatcher – Logistics Operations

About the role

R+L Carriers is looking for a highly organized City Dispatcher to join its Owensboro, KY Service Center. You will coordinate driver and freight‑handler activities, ensuring smooth dock operations and timely LTL load dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Manage drivers and freight handlers, overseeing daily schedules.
• Coordinate dock operations and adjust driver/freight‑handler assignments as needed.
• Maintain safety compliance and enforce quality freight‑handling procedures.
• Dispatch LTL loads promptly and accurately.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Service Center Manager.

Required profile

• Proven basic leadership experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and logistical problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of quality freight handling is preferred.
• Familiarity with Owensboro and surrounding areas.
• Prior LTL leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

What we offer

• Full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule with various shift options.
• Annual salary of $67,500.
