Child Welfare Services Technician I

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Human Services is hiring a Child Welfare Services Technician I to join the Division of Family & Children Services. You will work under a CWS Tech Supervisor, providing intake, case support, and resource coordination for children and families in need.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client intakes based on interviews with clients, families, or reporters.
• Maintain communication with social service agencies, health‑care providers, and other partners to obtain updates on client progress.
• Perform screenings and searches for case history, relatives, and related information.
• Assist clients in locating and using community resources such as legal, medical, and financial assistance.
• Organize records, upload data and documents, pull reports, and compile data as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a social‑services‑related position.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple organizational levels and teams.
• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
