Child Welfare Services Case Manager (Level 1)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services’ Division of Family & Children Services is hiring a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 to respond to reports of alleged child maltreatment, conduct safety assessments, and promote permanency for children in Danielsville, Madison County.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate timely, face‑to‑face responses to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement safety plans, conduct search efforts, and collaborate with community partners to create support systems.
• Partner with children and parents to develop Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Identify and address physical, educational, and mental health needs of children, parents, and foster parents.
• Establish and pursue permanency goals, ensuring stable foster placements and sibling co‑placement when appropriate.
• Document case management activities within policy timeframes and serve on after‑hours on‑call duty.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Pass agency testing protocol and meet pre‑employment screening requirements (drug test, background checks, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to use a privately owned vehicle for work‑related travel.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including on‑call duty and occasional telework.
