Child Welfare Services Case Manager – Evening Shift

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services is hiring a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 for the evening shift (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM). Under supervision, you will provide investigative and comprehensive case management for children and adults at risk of abuse or neglect, ensuring safety and promoting permanency.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement immediate safety plans for at‑risk clients.
• Conduct diligent search efforts to locate children or families when contact is lost.
• Apply Solution Based Casework (SBC) and collaborate on Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Complete genograms to identify support networks and coordinate with community partners.
• Maintain adequate visit frequency and quality to ensure safety, permanency, and well‑being.

Required profile

• Ability to work under supervision while learning investigative and case‑management techniques.
• Strong commitment to protecting vulnerable children and adults.
• Willingness to work the evening shift with a 5% shift‑differential.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with families and community agencies.
