Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1 to join the Division of Family & Children Services in Canton. This full‑time position supports vulnerable children and families by ensuring safety, permanency, and well‑being through direct casework and collaboration with community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement safety plans to address identified concerns.
• Locate children and families when contact is lost and conduct diligent search efforts.
• Apply Solution Based Casework (SBC) and create Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Complete genograms to map family support networks.
• Coordinate with community partners to build support systems for children and families.
• Maintain appropriate visit frequency and quality to ensure safety and permanency.
• Identify and address physical, educational, and mental health needs of children, parents, and foster parents.
• Set and pursue permanency goals and ensure stable foster care placements.
