Child Support Services Agent 1

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Support Services Agent 1 to join its Division of Child Support Services in Waycross, GA. This entry‑level position works under direct supervision to help establish and enforce child support obligations for families across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Register child support applications and verify locations.
• Establish paternity and set up support orders.
• Coordinate child support activities with legal, judicial and public organizations.
• Communicate with clients via telephone, email and in‑person to ensure obligations are met.
• Collect, distribute and monitor child support payments.
• Support outreach programs such as Fatherhood, Prison Re‑Entry and Parental Accountability Court.

Required profile

• Ability to work under direct supervision.
• Strong communication skills for phone, email and face‑to‑face interactions.
