Child Support Program Specialist

About the role

The Child Support Program Specialist supports the Administration for Children and Families by providing expert guidance to state, tribal, and local grantees on child support enforcement policies and program operations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and consult grantees on developing plans that align with new federal regulations and policies.
• Interpret and explain federal regulations, program policies, and guidelines related to child support enforcement.
• Review and analyze grantee plans and grant award requests to assess program effectiveness.
• Monitor grantee compliance with federal regulations, performance standards, and program policies.
• Provide technical guidance, corrective action recommendations, and performance improvement assistance to grantees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social science, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS‑11 level, including analysis and advisory work on child support enforcement programs.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor compliance and deliver technical assistance to state, tribal, or local agencies.
