Child Care Aide – Extra Help Assistant

About the role

The Extra Help Assistant – Child Care Aide provides supportive care for children in university‑affiliated programs. This position is open to current University of Arkansas employees, including student workers and graduate assistants, and offers flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist lead child‑care staff in supervising children and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
• Support daily activities such as meals, playtime, and educational games.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of child‑care areas.
• Monitor children’s wellbeing and report any concerns to supervisors.
• Follow university policies, health guidelines, and child‑care best practices.

Required profile

• Current employee of the University of Arkansas system (student employee, graduate assistant, or staff).
• Ability to log in to Workday and complete the application process.
• Clear background check and eligibility to work with children.
• Flexibility to work on‑site during assigned shifts.
