Chief Pharmacist

About the role

Elite Rx Solutions is seeking a Chief Pharmacist to lead clinical and operational pharmacy activities for its consulting clients. Based in Houston, TX, this full‑time, on‑site position will shape medication management, formulary oversight, and quality assurance across a diverse portfolio of independent pharmacies, chains, hospitals, and health‑systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review, and enforce pharmacy policies to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, across multiple client sites.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize workflows and adopt pharmacy technology solutions.
• Analyze performance data, contribute to consulting projects, and present recommendations to clients.
• Lead quality‑assurance initiatives that enhance patient safety and care outcomes.

Required profile

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with an active, unrestricted Texas pharmacist license (or eligibility).
• Several years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience in community, hospital, or health‑system settings.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, controlled‑substance regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Experience in consulting, project management, or multi‑site pharmacy oversight is a plus.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice, continuous improvement, and patient safety.
