Chief Operating Officer – Heavy Equipment

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer will partner with the CEO to turn strategic vision into day‑to‑day operational excellence across a multi‑location heavy‑equipment dealership. This senior leader will oversee sales, rentals, service, parts, logistics and fleet management, driving profitability and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
• Lead daily dealership operations, optimizing productivity, equipment utilization and customer satisfaction.
• Implement process improvements and automation tools such as ERP and WMS to streamline workflows.
• Recruit, develop and motivate high‑performing teams across sales, rental, service and branch management.
• Manage equipment lifecycle, including acquisitions, fleet rotation and rental purchase options.
• Prepare and control operating budgets, capital expenditure plans and revenue forecasts; monitor P&L performance.
• Support geographic expansion, OEM negotiations and post‑acquisition integration.
• Establish performance dashboards and KPIs (e.g., MTTR, RFT) to guide data‑driven decisions.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in operations leadership within heavy‑equipment, industrial or related sectors.
• Strong track record of scaling multi‑site businesses while maintaining operational excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial stewardship and KPI management.
