Chief of Staff - Space

About the role

Moog’s Space & Defense Group is seeking a Chief of Staff to support the Senior Vice President of the Space Division. This high‑visibility position works in a hybrid setting in Buffalo, NY and serves as a strategic advisor, integrator, and execution driver for critical aerospace and defense initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the SVP’s trusted advisor, synthesizing information, identifying decision options, and recommending actions.
• Manage the division’s operating cadence, including leadership meetings, strategic reviews, governance forums, and business reporting cycles.
• Translate enterprise and divisional priorities into actionable plans with clear milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop executive‑level communications such as presentations, briefings, talking points, and leadership updates.
• Facilitate alignment across leadership stakeholders on shared business priorities and decisions.
• Lead or support enterprise initiatives including portfolio optimization, M&A support, and transformation programs.
• Design and manage governance frameworks to enhance disciplined decision‑making, transparency, and accountability.
• Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks while proactively removing execution barriers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA or technical master’s preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in aerospace, defense, engineering, consulting, or other complex technology‑driven environments.
• Proven experience leading and influencing senior leaders in a fast‑paced, high‑impact setting.
• Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive organizational matters.
