Chemical Loader Internship

About the role

Join BASF’s Freeport site as a Chemical Loader Intern and gain hands‑on experience in loading and unloading chemical materials. You will work on a shift schedule, supporting both inbound raw material handling and outbound product distribution.

Key responsibilities

• Unload inbound raw materials and load outbound finished goods using trucks, rail, marine vessels, totes, drums, and other modes.
• Perform rail‑switching activities, including operating a railcar mover, acting as groundman, operating rail switches, and serving as crossing guard.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues before involving maintenance and report any required repairs.
• Follow all safety and operational procedures while handling hazardous materials.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass BASF’s pre‑employment assessment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
