Chemical Engineer – Battery Materials Development

About the role

Zeta Energy is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer to drive the scale‑up of next‑generation lithium‑sulfur battery electrode materials. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, turning patented laboratory processes into reliable, high‑throughput manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply chemical engineering fundamentals to design, operate, and optimize reactors and powder‑processing equipment for battery material synthesis.
• Develop, procure, assemble, and integrate control and safety systems for production equipment such as tube, fixed‑bed, fluidized‑bed, and chemical vapor deposition reactors.
• Lead projects from concept through detailed process design, equipment build, commissioning, and continuous maintenance.
• Implement process control, automation, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent, high‑purity output.
• Scale laboratory‑scale reactors to industrial‑grade systems using defined scaling methodologies.
• Use characterization tools (microscopy, spectroscopy, diffraction, thermogravimetry, calorimetry, chromatography, residual gas analysis, pyrometry) to diagnose and troubleshoot process challenges.
