Cheer Coach (Temporary)

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello is seeking a temporary Cheer Coach to lead its NCAA Division II cheerleading program. This non‑student, classified staff position supports the athletics department in coaching, recruiting, and program management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage all phases of the competitive cheerleading program in compliance with NCAA, Great American Conference, and university regulations.
• Coach athletes, oversee practices, and coordinate travel for competitions.
• Recruit prospective cheerleaders and maintain roster.
• Manage program budget, fund‑raising activities, and equipment.
• Monitor academic progress of student‑athletes and promote academic success.
• Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Competitive background in college cheering or coaching (preferred).
• Strong understanding of NCAA Division II and conference rules.
• Ability to supervise and mentor student‑athletes.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
