Certified Surgical Technician

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support endoscopy and surgical procedures in its Slidell, Louisiana facility. The role ensures that equipment and supplies are ready, scrubs for surgeries, assists the surgical team, and performs patient‑care duties as assigned by the RN.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical cases.
• Scrub in and assist during surgical and endoscopic procedures.
• Organize activities and supplies according to the daily surgery schedule.
• Provide direct patient care and communicate care information to patients, families, and staff.

Required profile

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or 5 years of surgical technologist experience (online programs not accepted).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability.

Required skills

• Expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and surgical instruments.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
