Certified Pharmacy Technician – Refill Calls

About the role

The Pharmacy Refill Technician provides hands‑on support to pharmacy staff and Shields Health Solutions liaisons, ensuring accurate and timely filling and delivery of specialty medications. The role focuses on outbound patient refill calls, inbound pharmacy inquiries, and coordination of the entire refill process.

Key responsibilities

• Make assigned outbound refill calls and process patient refill requests promptly.
• Answer, resolve, and triage inbound pharmacy inquiries.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists or clinicians as needed.
• Enter refill data, verify correct days‑supply, and manage claim adjudication.
• Coordinate medication inventory, including special‑storage items.
• Identify and prepare required supplies such as sharps containers and syringes.
• Discontinue patients from service when appropriate and document all actions.
• Maintain and update relevant data in database applications.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and share observations.
