Certified Medical Assistant - Practice Based

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for its Lake Mary, Florida clinic. The role supports clinic operations and patient care during office visits, with travel as needed to meet staffing needs. The schedule is full-time day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
• Keep up to date with policies and procedures and maintain compliance with organizational standards.
• Prepare patients and equipment for treatment, initiate testing and document results in the practice's system.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and other office safety policies.
• Provide whole care during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration and closing care gaps.
• Perform clinical intake such as screenings, history taking, vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Assist with minor procedures and ensure accurate documentation.
• Educate patients on tests, medications and diet.
• Monitor and manage inventory and medical equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and patient information and support teamwork.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: CMA, CMAC, RMA, AMT RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• 1+ year of related work experience preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the healthcare field, medical terminology and chronic disease management.
• Ability to use internal and external resources and advocate for patients.
• Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication in English and computer literacy.
