Certified Medical Assistant

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for its Apopka, Florida clinic. The role involves travelling as needed to meet staffing needs and supporting clinic operations, working a full-time day shift. The pay range is $17.28 to $27.65.

Key responsibilities

• Keep up to date with all policies and procedures and stay compliant with organizational standards.
• Maintain education requirements and demonstrate competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
• Prepare patients and equipment for treatment, initiate testing and document results in the practice's system.
• Ensure office compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety policies.
• Provide whole care during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration and closing care gaps.
• Perform clinical intake such as screenings, history taking, vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Assist with minor procedures and ensure accurate documentation at the time of service or results.
• Educate patients on tests, medications and diet, and monitor and manage inventory.
• Protect the confidentiality of employee and patient information and support teamwork.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• 1+ year of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, type legibly, speak and understand English, and use computers.

• Ability to work independently and handle stressful, fast-paced situations.
