Certified Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Certified Maintenance Technician ensures that all building systems, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance, and functionality. This position works directly on resident service requests and preventative maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing defects in accordance with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep, including trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, participating in routine safety meetings.

• Ability to follow established procedures, safety policies, and code requirements.
• Attention to detail in inspections, documentation, and inventory management.
• Capability to coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
