Certification Engineer

About the role

Radiant is developing portable nuclear microreactors and needs a Certification Engineer to define and govern design standards, requirements, and verification methods for mass‑produced reactors. You will act as the bridge between systems engineering, design, analysis, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring that hardware and concepts of operation meet Radiant’s rigorous standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, own, and continuously improve design criteria, standards, and requirements for reactor core, structures, fluid systems, electronics, and shielding.
• Provide peer review and approval of hardware designs during design reviews; confirm acceptance and qualification test campaigns.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to drive optimized designs and shepherd them through design review, verification testing, and part release.
• Guide engineers through Radiant’s design process, ensuring compliance with design criteria for reactor design, manufacturing, and testing.
• Work with responsible engineers throughout the full design lifecycle to ensure criteria are properly considered.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• 2+ years of full‑time experience solving engineering problems in design, analysis, or testing of complex systems.
• Experience with complex hardware, manufacturing, integration, testing, or operations processes.
• Applied understanding of requirement derivation, negotiation, and verification.
• Experience with requirements management tools is a plus.
