Central Project Engineer (USAC)

About the role

As a Central Project Engineer at 3M, you will join a global team of innovative engineers to deliver capital projects that support the company’s growth. You will work on front‑end engineering, design, and commissioning of major equipment while ensuring safety, cost‑effectiveness, and compliance with EHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in cost‑effective technical solutions, estimates, schedules, and change management.
• Lead and coordinate all technical project work, including front‑end engineering and design activities.
• Define Basis of Design (BOD) and engineering package deliverables.
• Specify major equipment and oversee development of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and start‑up/commissioning plans.
• Maintain communication and alignment with project teams and owners throughout execution.
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, guidelines, and EHS standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical).
• Minimum seven years of capital project management experience in private, public, government, or military settings.
• Valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Experience with webline equipment.
• Automation systems knowledge.
• Discrete part handling equipment expertise.
