Cement Mason

About the role

The Cement Mason is responsible for constructing, altering, repairing and installing masonry structures using block, stone, brick and concrete. This role works on construction sites, handling both manual and power‑tool tasks while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, alter, repair and install masonry structures made of block, stone, brick and concrete.
• Lay out foundations, set forms for foundations, headwalls and curbs, and mix and pour concrete.
• Select appropriate cement, mortar, blocks, stone or brick for each job.
• Measure, cut and shape stone, brick and block according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and specifications.
• Erect and use scaffolding, ladders and mechanical platforms to access work areas.
• Load and unload materials, maintain a clean and safe work site.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb ladders/scaffolds and lift items up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays.
• OSHA 10 certification and ability to pass pre‑access drug and alcohol testing.
