CDL‑A Truck Driver – Local Routes

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a CDL‑A City Pickup & Delivery (P&D) driver for its Lumberton, NC service center. You will handle local freight deliveries and pickups, returning to the terminal each day. The role involves multiple stops, use of scanning equipment, direct customer interaction, and occasional lift‑gate deliveries using an electric pallet jack.

Key responsibilities

• Perform city‑wide delivery and pickup of freight on a daily basis.
• Complete multiple stops per shift while using handheld scanning equipment.
• Interact professionally with customers at each delivery point.
• Execute lift‑gate deliveries using an electric pallet jack when required.
• Return to the Lumberton terminal at the end of each workday.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A license with at least 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience within the past 3 years.
• Clean driving record (no serious violations, no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years).
• Age 23 (or 21 if meeting FMCSA military transition specifications).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment DOT physical, drug screen, and road test.
• Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependable and safety‑focused attitude.
