CDL A Team Truck Driver – $140k‑$160k Salary

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking experienced CDL Class A Team Drivers to join its Chicago service center. Drivers will pull 53‑foot van trailers or double trailers, transporting freight between service centers and turn‑point locations while enjoying a home‑every‑week schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate 53’ van trailers or double trailers safely on assigned routes.
• Transport freight between service centers and customer locations.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and maintain vehicle compliance.
• Adhere to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and delivery schedules.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and maintain accurate paperwork.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A with at least 1 year of combined verifiable Class A experience within the past 3 years.
• Clean driving record (no serious violations, ≤3 moving violations in 3 years).
• Age 23 (or 21 with FMCSA military transition specifications).
• Pass pre‑employment DOT physical, drug screen, and road test.
• Ability to lift, bend, and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependable and able to work a 5‑day on/2‑day off schedule.

Required skills

• CDL Class A operation.
• Experience with double/triple trailer handling.
• Hazmat endorsement (preferred).
• Experience hauling LTL freight (preferred).
