CD-SEM Metrology Engineering Technician (Weekend Shift)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a CD-SEM Metrology Engineering Technician to work a compressed weekend shift supporting wafer and device characterization. The role involves operating the CD-SEM Verity platform, developing measurement recipes, and ensuring high equipment uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform wafer and device characterization using the CD-SEM Verity platform for FEOL and BEOL structures.
• Develop imaging acquisition recipes and optimized algorithms for CD, CDU, LER, and LWR measurements.
• Report results to internal and external customers via written reports and oral presentations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to achieve >90% uptime, including preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Document all maintenance and repairs in the designated logbook and tracking system.
• Generate statistical process control reports and tool health monitoring metrics.
• Support other metrology equipment in the lab for implanter characterization as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on SEM or CD‑SEM experience, including basic troubleshooting.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Semiconductor Engineering.
• Knowledge of vacuum science, semiconductor process modules, and characterization techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a small, dynamic team and communicate effectively with multiple functional areas.
• Willingness to work on‑site in a cleanroom environment while fully gowned.
