Cash Operations Generalist – High Speed 2nd Shift

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking a Cash Operations Generalist to work the high‑speed 2nd shift. The role involves receiving, paying out, and processing large volumes of currency and coin in a tightly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Accept and verify deposits of currency and coin from armored carriers.
• Store currency and coin securely in vaults awaiting processing.
• Operate high‑speed cash processing equipment and perform internal transfers.
• Fill currency orders for payout to designated carriers and act as a witness for currency destruction.
• Enter transaction data into the automated settlement system and assist with end‑of‑day settlement.
• Review team documents, correct exceptions, and ensure workflow compliance.
• Provide guidance and on‑the‑job training to team members.
• Collaborate with management and field engineers to resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication skills for daily interaction with team, engineers, and management.
• Ability to coach experienced staff and train new employees.
• Willingness to work the 2nd shift (5:45 PM start to ~5:00 AM).

Required skills

• Proficiency with high‑speed cash processing equipment.
• Familiarity with automated settlement systems.
