Cash Manager – Night/Swing Shift Manager

About the role

The Cash Manager leads night and swing‑shift operations within the Cash Services Department, ensuring the secure and efficient flow of currency and coin for financial institutions and the public. Reporting to the Cash Services Officer, this senior position requires minimal supervision and direct oversight of staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage night‑shift activities and coordinate processes across day and night shifts as needed.
• Oversee one or more functional units, guaranteeing proper staffing, training, and compliance.
• Develop and allocate resources to meet departmental goals, budget targets, and service‑level standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to all policies, procedures, and controlled‑environment standards for currency handling.
• Handle employment decisions, including hiring, performance evaluation, promotions, salary adjustments, and terminations.
• Monitor daily operations such as receipt, processing, shipping, and destruction of currency and coin.
• Resolve operational issues promptly and maintain effective communication with external partners like the Treasury, U.S. Mint, Secret Service, and other Reserve Banks.

Required profile

• Advanced experience in cash handling or financial operations, preferably within a central banking environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of custody control standards and federal currency operational manuals.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
