Cash Manager – Night Shift

About the role

The Cash Manager leads night‑shift operations within the Cash Services Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. This senior position ensures secure, efficient circulation of currency and coin while maintaining strict compliance with all policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee night‑shift cash operations, coordinating processes across shifts.
• Manage functional units, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and performance.
• Develop and allocate resources to meet departmental goals, objectives, and budget targets.
• Ensure compliance with Custody Control Standards, Federal Reserve Currency Operational Manual, and related procedures.
• Handle employment decisions, including hiring, performance evaluation, promotions, and terminations.
• Monitor daily activities such as receipt, processing, shipping, and destruction of currency and coin.
• Resolve operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain communication with internal departments, other Reserve Banks, and external financial institutions.

Required profile

• Advanced experience in cash handling or banking operations.
• Proven leadership ability with direct‑report management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and security standards for currency.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
