Cash Handler – Phoenix Processing Center

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Phoenix Processing Center is seeking a reliable Cash Handler to receive, process, and distribute U.S. currency and coin. This is a full‑time, on‑site position in a high‑volume, production‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and distribute U.S. currency and coin while following strict standard operating procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot complex processing equipment to meet production goals and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain quality‑control policies and work procedures.
• Perform daily inventory management, balancing, reconciling, and settlement of currency holdings.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, including machine faults and accounting discrepancies.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and employee engagement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong basic math and accounting competence.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow regulated procedures.
• Effective teamwork and customer‑service orientation.
• Good time‑management and organizational skills in a fast‑paced setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Data‑entry and computer operation experience.
