Cash Handler – Los Angeles Night Shift

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Cash Handler for its Los Angeles Cash Office. This night‑shift position supports 24/7 distribution of U.S. currency and coin to financial institutions across Southern California, Nevada, and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and distribute U.S. currency and coin in a highly regulated environment.
• Operate complex processing equipment and troubleshoot machine issues to meet production and service targets.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain quality‑control policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform daily inventory management, including balancing, reconciling, and settlement of currency holdings.
• Identify and resolve operational problems such as machine malfunctions, inventory discrepancies, and transaction issues.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and operational enhancements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a 4/10 night‑shift schedule (5:00 PM – 4:00 AM, Monday‑Friday).
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving operational needs.
