Cash Handler – Los Angeles

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Cash Handler for its Los Angeles Cash Office. In this role you will support a 24/7 operations team that distributes U.S. currency and coin to financial institutions across Southern California, Nevada, and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and distribute U.S. currency and coin in a highly regulated environment.
• Operate complex processing equipment and troubleshoot machine issues to meet production goals.
• Maintain quality‑control policies and work procedures in a dynamic production setting.
• Perform daily inventory management, balancing, reconciling, and settlement of cash holdings.
• Identify and resolve operational problems, including machine, inventory, and transaction issues.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and employee engagement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Flexibility to work the scheduled shift (Monday‑Friday, 2 pm‑11 pm) and additional hours as needed.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment.
