Cash Applications & Customer Service Supervisor

About the role

The Supervisor assists in overseeing all functions related to Cash Applications and Customer Service for the Hospital and Physician Services, supporting Kingman Healthcare’s vision of being a kind and high‑quality health system.

Key responsibilities

• Directs the work of two or more full‑time employees and provides counseling, handling complaints and grievances.
• Participates in interviewing, selection, promotions, employee evaluations and corrective actions.
• Oversees cash posting, reimbursement analysis, adjustments, auditing, statement processing, financial counseling, charity approvals and training of staff.
• Monitors patient communications regarding balance resolution while protecting the hospital’s public image.
• Performs quality control across cash applications and customer service to safeguard financial interests.
• Plans, organizes and coordinates billing and cash‑application systems to ensure timely, courteous and accurate service.
• Develops and revises job descriptions, hires staff, schedules work hours and administers department policies.
• Provides staff development through orientation, in‑services, education and regular meetings.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lead or supervisory experience in customer service, posting or collections plus at least one year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to manage staff through positive reinforcement and to motivate teams.
• Strong verbal and numerical intelligence with the ability to interact effectively with the public.
• Understanding of AHCCCS, Medicare, commercial reimbursement and related state and federal collection rules.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency and typing ability.
• Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement regulations (AHCCCS, Medicare, commercial).
